Strictly is Back

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 is back for its 22nd series, with its launch show airing on September 14, and the first live performances starting on September 21. This year marks a special celebration of the show’s 20th anniversary, and the excitement is already high with a stellar line-up of celebrities. Hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, the show continues to pair celebrities with professional dancers to compete for the coveted Glitterball Trophy.

The confirmed celebrity cast includes familiar names from various industries, such as singer Toyah Willcox, TV personality Pete Wicks, and pop star Shayne Ward. Each celebrity is partnered with a professional dancer, with exciting pairings like Toyah Willcox dancing with Neil Jones, and Shayne Ward teamed up with Nancy Xu. The first week of performances saw a range of dances, from elegant waltzes to energetic cha-cha-chas, with no eliminations in the initial week.

A notable feature this year is the return of fan-favourite professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec, who is paired with model and TV personality Tasha Ghouri. The live shows continue to capture the essence of glitz, glamour, and intense competition, while the dynamic panel of judges—Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Anton Du Beke—keep the excitement and critique flowing.

Overall, Strictly 2024 promises to deliver another thrilling season of dance, drama, and show-stopping routines, with fans eagerly awaiting to see who will shine on the dancefloor.

You can catch all the episodes live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
